Orage Masters 2009: More Mental than Judgmental

Orage Masters 2009: More Mental than Judgmental

With numerous booters, rails, and a 20-foot tall log rounding out the course, a team format saw costumes ranging from Surface Skis’ Ghostbusters to team Volkl and their boy scout ensemble. And it was team Volkl who, after edging K2 in the semis, set it down in the finals, taking out Armada and topping out the log amidst smoke from fireworks and Kokanee waterfalls coming from the scaffolding at the bottom of the course.

The organized chaos of the “anti-contest” proved once again that just because you’re being judged, it doesn’t mean you have to be judgmental…well maybe just a little bit mental. And the sandwiches were pretty darn good too.

Thanks go out to Mike Nick, Cody Lynge, and the rest of the Orage crew for putting on another great event in the face of less-than-optimal weather. See you there next year.
