Wrangle the Chute 2011 at Kicking Horse

The third year of Wrangle the Chute Ultimate Big Mountain Challenge took place February 5th at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort in Golden, B.C. with a bevy of barbecue and a snowcat-suspended kicking horse leading up to the main event.

Amid a dense field of riders sticking 60-foot drops, Nelson B.C. native Mathew Montandon took the top spot, riding cleanly away after throwing a 360 down a 50-foot cliff drop. Besting second-place finisher Daryl Treadway by just two points, Montandon stood atop a podium that also included 15-year-old Logan Pehota. In the women’s division Golden local Wendy Burns took first. Andrew_Mirabito_Best_Action.jpgAndrew_Mirabito_Event_Site.jpgAndrew_Mirabito_Promote_Choice.jpgBarry_Cox_People_Choice.jpg
