When the Downhill Skiing World Championships were held in Portillo, Chile in 1966, it showed the world that skiing south of the equator was not only possible, but incredible and abundant. This short documentary remembers the special championships, the opening ceremony, and it looks at how Portillo is viewed in the eyes of today’s downhill racers. After 50 years, the good snow still brings racers down for training and competition.
