Rob Boyd is God
Les’s entry into the Telus Festival’s Filmmaker Showdown (film’s must be written, shot and edited in 72 hours) is a hilarious treatment of Canadian pride, Aussie disparagement and a fantastic history/mythology lesson. The platitudes grow in volume and absurdity (“He carved out this valley with his own bare hands!”) as bar patrons sing the chorus of “Rob Boyd is God” and Anthony parades about the stage like a skinny-ass Jack Black with an inked-up Rob Boyd tattoo on his chest. I haven’t had a chance to check the other entrants, although I heard the winning musical on being a local is fairly phenomenal.
At any rate, check the Rob Boyd opus. It is awesome. Thanks Les.
Can “Don Cherry is Jesus” be next?
