The Ski Journal Welcomes Lily Krass Ritter as Editor

Mt. Baker, WA – The Ski Journal is proud and excited to announce the hiring of our new Editor, Lily Krass Ritter.

Lily has worked as a writer and editor in the ski industry for the past 10 years, with work regularly featured in OutsideSKIPowder and Freeskier, as well as other non-ski publications. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Lily first started skiing at Crystal Mountain, WA, before exploring the Front Range of Colorado, as well as the Wasatch. Lily now calls Jackson Hole and the Tetons home, where she also trains as a ski guide. While most of her written work appears in English, she is a solid polyglot with degrees in Spanish and Italian from the University of Colorado, which has proven useful both on and off-piste in the Alps.

She is a former employee and current volunteer for Coombs Outdoors, a Jackson-based nonprofit that helps provide access to skiing and outdoor recreation for local youth. Lily has also combined her love for the alpine with cuisine, co-authoring “Beyond Skid: A Cookbook for Ski Bums,” featuring dirtbag-friendly recipes inspired by life in a mountain town.

“We thank Kade Krichko for the last several years of solid work at the helm, and wish him good luck in his future endeavors,” said The Ski Journal Publisher Jeff Galbraith. “And we are deeply stoked to welcome Lily aboard The Ski Journal. With her experience and passion for all things mountain, Lily will continue to strengthen The Ski Journal as the leading voice of ski culture, adventures and icons. She is a perfect fit for our brand and ethos.”
